Hello to all of you. Just wanted to thank you for sharing your beautiful music and lives with us here on the west coast. I loved your concert…though I must say it left me in a melancholy and pensive frame of mind. The whole notion of a tragedy of that magnitude in a small community where such an event affects every family…I feel great sorrow and also admiration and respect for those who make their lives, and raise their families in this treacherous setting and situation. I had forgotten about the Springhill disaster of 1958…I wasn’t born yet, and neither was a high school friend of mine, whose father perished in the mine while my friend’s mother was expecting the new baby who would become his late father’s namesake the following year. I thank you for bringing my attention to the memory of those men, and sharing your way of life as well as the history you so vividly depicted. You sing from the heart about what is real, and it comes across in the most beautiful! way…tears of sorrow and admiration still come to me as I listen to your songs over again. The soloists gave me goosebumps, in both the power and sincerity of their expression as they told stories in song, and the poem also. Words don’t seem adequate to explain how very moved I was by your performance…a thousand thank you’s. I hope you’ll be able to visit again…

I went to the performance at Britania Mine Museum today. What a treat it was to witness this wonderful performance. All the men are so full of joyful spirits. it was very touching and entertaining. I felt very priviledged to have been able to be there and also share it with my mother. Thank you for letting us take picture and chat with the men too. Very special. What a wonderful thing these men are doing. I just heard on the news that there was an explosion in Kuzbas Russia in a coal mine. 200 got out but dozens still trapped…I hope a prayer was said through your songs tonight and I hope they get out. I think it is wonderful though to educate through music. It is something that should remain in our lives..I just can’t say enough. I am 39 and I think this is something for all ages.
