where to start? i was at a wedding in winnipeg at a local hotel, when i was out catching a breath of fresh air, billy MacPherson started chatting with me, we talked a bit about the union, then he gave me a brief history of him self, next thing i know i have an invite to come sit with them while they play in the lounge, i sat away from their table and listened to some great music, then billy waved me over intoduced me to the guys, sang some union songs, listened to stories, laughes and had a grand time. i always wanted to hear them but i never thought in mylife time i would be sitting at the same table singing songs and listening to stories, something i will cherish for a long time, thanks for the invite billy, mike – P.S. so much for the wedding

I was very fortunate to see your show last night, July 17 at T’Yarc in Yarmouth. My friend Doris Surette had bought the tickets . I don’t know when I’ve had a more enjoyable night in a long time. I saw your show while visiting the Cape in June and you were awesome. I cried through the whole thing and Jude thought that was funny ! My Dad was Danny MacIntyre. I wanted to send you a 3rd verse for “Working Man” that I wrote for my Dad just after he passed away. He was sad at the end of his life – on continuous oxygen and no longer at his prime musically which was his passion. Feel free to add it, though I didn’t check with Rita. Yours in song, Danette. We were fortunate to get seats in the second row at your concert at the Louisberg Playhouse on June 16/06 and it was truly THE highlight of our 3 weeks in the Maritmes. Having gone on the tour underground led by Sheldon the previous afternoon, we were so moved by your music and the message your songs bring. Hello to all our fans once again and a big thank you to all the folks who came to hear us on our most successful tour of Ontario which ended in St.Cathrine,s at the Brock Centre,on April30th.And just a little reminder to all our friends and fans in Nova Scotia that we will be doing a five concert tour beginning in Pictou on July16th.We continue to Yarmouth for a show on the 17th..We,ll be at the Cohn in Halifax on the 18th.After a day off we will be performing in Springhill on the 20th and then our final concert which will take place in Dominion on July21st.All procedes from these concerts will be donated back to ,Feed Nova Scotia,which in turn supply needed goods and services to all the food banks in the province.We like to call this tour,our return,to thank all the good folks who have supported us for the past 40 years together as a choir.So please check out our web site for times and places we will be singing.Once again i would like to thank everyone on behalf of the choir for the great support you have given us as we spread our mining story in song to all parts of the world.Bill

I just found yuor website after borrowing your CD from a friend. I was at the Miner’s Museum last summer oon nmy tour and it was a great experience. I have always enjoyed museums and attractions that celbrate the ordinary working man or woman. Being led by a rela miner who had spent years in the mines was an unforgettable experience. I saw your show in St Catherines on Apr 30, 2006 and can’t tell you how much it meant to me. I been researching my grandparent’s families from Glace Bay and of course the mining is a big part of the family history. You’ve given me a true understanding of what their lives were like, and the songs you sing truly touch me.
