Gaelic College
What a perfect way to spend a lovely October afternoon – entertained with songs and stories by these fantastic storytellers and musicians. And what stories they’ll have to tell. The Men of the Deeps have been known to tell a joke or two before launching into their beautiful harmonies. Now nearing their 50 year anniversary, they’ve performed all over the world and you can bet they’ve picked up and lived through a few good stories in their travels. You won’t get far in Newfoundland without hearing a song and a story or two, and you don’t get a much better combination of the two than in Jim Payne & Fergus O’Byrne. The multi-instrumental duo will share their upbeat traditions from Newfoundland. Laura Smith’s songs are stories come to life with the help of her strong and melodious voice. Laura returns to the Festival this year after making her Celtic Colours debut in 2014. She will be joined by Northside native Kim Dunn on piano. Mind your heart!
