Clad in overalls and hard hats, Cape Breton’s own Men of the Deeps have, for over half a century, enraptured audiences around the globe. Although mining as a livelihood is a thing of the past in Cape Breton, this choir of working and retired coal miners keep the history, music and folklore alive through their heartfelt performances and deep camaraderie. Canada’s legendary miners’ chorus comes to the stage to take audiences on a journey like no other, sharing the true experience of celebrating Christmas in a real coal mine, jolly miner style.
Joining the world famous group, as they deliver Christmas cheer, will be one of today’s finest proponents of Cape Breton fiddle: the incomparable Colin Grant. Colin takes center stage to feature his traditional, yet original, hard-drivin’ tunes and energetic style. Colin is also happy to add some colour to the choir numbers and may even deliver a few laughs along with the fellas.
